We need extra hands to make this event a success. If you are interested in volunteering for any of the below listed areas, please contact us. We greatly appreciate your time!
Pre-Event
- sell raffle tickets for the $1,000 kayak package
- find sponsors (In order to be printed on the commemorative t-shirt, donations must be received no later than Friday, September 18th, 2009.)
- contact local businesses to place ads. Ad space reservation, form and check due to TWC-SCT by Monday, September 14, 2009. Digital ads due to designer by Friday, September 18, 2009.
- ask local businesses for donations for our mega raffle and silent auction. We have found “general use items such as restaurant gift certificates, boating items, gift baskets filled with wine, food, heath and beauty, fishing items to work best for increased interest in the raffle/auction.
Captain Sign Up
Friday October 2, from 4-7pm:
Fill captains bags, selling more party tickets & shirts.
Race Day
Saturday, Oct 3, 8am-end of day:
- assist on committee boat (not prone to seasickness please, the boat will not come in until after the race has started)
- stay on station at BYC to receive captains log, hand out coffee etc end of A dock. This is a distance race and until a course has been picked that morning, we will not know how late volunteers will be needed. Boats will be returning from late afternoon until late evening possibly.
Awards Party
Sunday, October 4, 10am-7pm:
- general set-up
- raffle and silent auction set-up
- food related organization/kitchen/set-up
- kid activities
- party ticket sales
- t-shirt sales
- raffle sales (both kayak & mega raffle)
- clean up
